This section of the website is for all of my art that doesn't fall under any of the other categories of my portfolio, nor as fanart. In other words, pictures I've drawn on the computer through Flash or Photoshop (Or, in the case of one intentionally pixelated picture, Microsoft Paint. See? That program has a use after all!). Quite a few of them were used as fillers for my comic.

Beach Heroes - Original Sketch and Full Color Version

These drawings were inspired by the summer vacations of my youth. Belt Boy rocks a wacky ensemble between his signature belt, palm tree trunks, beach towel-cape, and use of sunglasses AND goggles at the same time. Titanium Maiden sports a 50's look with her cute retro sunglasses. Cannon reveals his rarely seen scrawny build. And Enticia is simply showing off what she's got in a bikini. This is based off of a sketch that can be found in the sketchbook page of my portfolio.

Belt Boy in Stealth Mode

A dramatic scene with Belt Boy sneaking around a corner, hot on the trail of some nasty Necrobots. I played around a lot with the coloring and shadows in this scene. It was a bit tricky, trying to add an ominous, red glow to a dingy, gray scene. I meant for it to not look like Belt Boy was simply surrounded by walls that were naturally pinkish-gray, but that the naturally gray walls were being tinted by the off-screen glow. In the end, I think it turned out pretty well.

B.O.N.N.I.E. Dreams

B.O.N.N.I.E.'s always been in love with Cannon, but alas, they are seperated by the barrier between the real and virtual worlds. Well, that and the fact that she creeps Cannon out (Uncanny Valley, and all that). But nothing can keep B.O.N.N.I.E. from her crush as she dreams her way through sleep mode. I gave the normally bodyless B.O.N.N.I.E. some of the most impressive curves I've drawn on an HoC character, not to mention one of the coolest assymetrical outfits I've ever drawn.

The Cheese Mutants that Ate Minnesota Part II: Gouda vs. Evil Movie Poster

During my Heroes of C.R.A.S.H. storyline "The Dating Scheme", Belt Boy and Titanium Maiden go out on their first date, and wind up seeing The Cheese Mutants that Ate Minnesota at the local movie theater. I wound up creating a poster for this sci-fi/romantic comedy film for the purposes of a filler comic, and well, here it is. I'm aware that the credits are full of puns; I hope you don't find any of them too... CHEESY! *Rimshot*

Cape Clod

A captioned, single-panel comic showing why Belt Boy invented his Detach-A-Cape, in the hopes of preventing the kind of accidents they mentioned in The Incredibles. Although, to be fair, just how many telephone booths do you see nowadays? There's a strong chance that if I ever print out Heroes of C.R.A.S.H. t-shirts to sell, this image may be on one.

Dracula Glitters

I can't think of a single insult that would offend an honest-to-badness, sharp-fanged, coffin-sleeping, blood-sucking, garlic-hating, sunlight-fearing, shape-shifting, cross-avoiding, mind-enslaving, NON-glittering creature of the night more than being compared to those Twilight twerps. I get the feeling that this vandalistic werewolf seems to agree.

Fake Gameplay

There's no Heroes of C.R.A.S.H. video game just yet, but a man can dream...! I do like the old-fashioned pixelated look of NES and SNES games, and I think it suits Belt Boy pretty well here. The Heroes of C.R.A.S.H. was largely inspired by the late-80's-to-early-90's Saturday morning cartoons of my youth, after all, and what respectable late-80's-to-early-90's Saturday morning cartoon didn't have its own game for the NES or SNES? Or at least its own cereal or PSA commercial (Note to self... get started on ideas for HoC cereal!).

How 2 Draw Belt Boy, Titanium Maiden, and Cannon

I've gotten a decent amount of fanart over the years. Some incredible, some a little off-model. These handy-dandy reference sheets go over the basics of drawing my characters for fans to use. It's also an excellent reference guide for myself to keep my characters looking consistent.

Jane Diamondback

Jane started "life" as a doodle in class, while watching a video on archaeology (which is why, I suspect, her look appears to be a bit Lara Croft-esque). I had gotten the idea of making a snake tail into a ponytail, and Jane was the result. I made the cobra hood into the "hair" and the tail into a ponytail, thus allowing her snake heritage to be obvious despite a clearly humanoid body. I gave her ponytail a rattlesnake end, which reinforced her snake-like appearance. To make her outfit a little more different from that of Lara Croft, I gave her long pants and a triangle cut out from the bottom of her tank top. I also gave her manacles and a jeweled necklace, most likely taken from a dig site. I originally gave her a different name, though: "Jade".

Some time after that, I was made aware of a contest on Deviant Art by a man who went by the account name "AndrewDickman". He was asking for submissions for new characters for his proposed cartoon, Tail Chasers - a cartoon about a bunch of anthropomorphic animals who raced in a futuristic world on motorcycles. I decided to bring back "Jade", and make a few change for my submission. First, I changed her name (I discovered that there was another character being submitted named "Jade") to "Jane", and gave her a last name as well: "Diamondback" (Both a reference to the pattern on her back, as well as a way to fit in another snake to her profile). Since she needed to be a racer as well, I added a racing outfit in a similar style to that of the other Tail Chaser costumes, most of which had a pleather-like appearance and snaps on their jackets. Lastly, she needed a ride: the Sidewinder. I looked at his vehicles and pictures of real ones for reference, and incorporated a snake-like look to it which bore her Diamondback pattern. Regretfully, I became very ill just a few days before the deadline, and by the time I recovered, it was too late to send it in. Nonetheless, she's a rather interesting character, which hopefully, I will be able to incorporate in a future project.

San Antonio Postcards - Belt Boy at the Alamo, Titanium Maiden and Caped Cod at the Japanese Tea Gardens, and Cannon at the Institute of Texan Cultures

During the holiday season of 2012-2013, I was able to go on vacation in San Antonio to visit someone very dear to me. While there, I got to take in many of the sights, and - like any good tourist - took lots of photos. Upon returning home, I made three fillers out of three of my photos, putting my heroes in some of the most memorable locales I saw and making the scenes into postcards. Belt Boy is hunting ghosts at the supposedly-haunted Alamo with the aid of the technology on his belt, his wits, and an awesome hat. Titanium Maiden is taking in the breathtaking beauty of the Japanese Tea Gardens while Caped Cod splashes about in the koi ponds. Cannon is posing in front of the taxidermied T-Bone (The last longhorn in a herd owned by the late John Wayne) at the Institute of Texan Cultures.

The Attack of the Return of the Space Puffins from Space: Part 12 in 2D - Special Directors Cut Movie Poster

With Space Puffins playing a role in my comic's "Fight at the Museum" storyline, I couldn't resist putting up an advertising poster for a fake movie involving the most adorable avian aliens you ever did see. And, of course, I also couldn't resist giving it the most ridiculously long (and slightly redundant) title you ever did see.

Streamlined Belt Boy and Titanium Maiden

I've been working on drawing characters using a "streamlined realism" style, similar to what one might see in a Justice League cartoon. Simplified, but not terribly toony. These are my first two attempts on giving Belt Boy and TM a less-toonified makeover, but I think I can streamline this style even more. Were I to be successful, I doubt I would apply the new look to the comic - I feel that it would detract from the comic's comedic aspects and slow down the process of drawing the comic immensely - it's still nice to be able to draw in a new style and see how I might be able to apply aspects of it to my current art style.

Titanium Maiden Doodles

Based on a similar picture from the Sketchbook section of my portfolio, Titanium Maiden does a little doodling in her notebook. Much like myself, TM is a budding artist, and loves to sketch and doodle.

Zombie Heroes - Sugar Rush, Gelatin Boy, Dodge, Dino-Mo, Unk, Jackknife, Enticia, Cannon, Titanium Maiden, Belt Boy, and Group Picture

A small series of fillers I drew for Halloween, featuring the heroes of my comic all made-up as zombies! With a shambling Sugar Rush, a half-munched Gelatin Boy, Dodge as a "runner" zombie, a half-fossilized Dino-Mo, an enraged Unk, Jackknife with rusty blades, dramatically-posed Enticia, Cannon with a broken mechanical hand, Titanium Maiden bursting from the ground, and Belt Boy dancing to Thriller, they make for quite a creepy crew, sure to scare the daylights out of any supervillain!
